From May 15 to 17, 2026, the Montreal Comic Arts Festival will set up its tents on Saint-Denis Street, between Gilford and Roy, creating a 1.2 km comic-themed walk filled with activities, exhibitions, and meet-and-greets.
Last year, the MCAF welcomed over 90,000 visitors, hosted 1750 exhibitors, and showcased more than 330 comic artists. The MCAF team presented a bilingual program of over 60 free activities themed Back to Future, held over three days for the general public.

Join artist Isabella Rotman, creator of This Might Hurt Tarot and This Might Help Oracle, in a workshop all about making your very own divination deck.

Ideal for complete beginners or someone who has taken a class or two. You’ll learn about the characteristics of clay and the basics of wheel throwing including centering and learning to throw simple forms, as well as surface decoration techniques and glazing. An overview of studio policy and protocol is included.

Open classes are perfect for potters with experience who want some additional support pursuing their projects. The instructor will be on hand to provide demos as needed and offer support, critique, and advice for self-directed project, but this is not a structured class like the Foundational or Intermediate classes.

Dover Pottery Studio
Join us on a journey into pottery wheel throwing over four sessions. This class introduces you to the essential techniques of wedging and centering clay, followed by hands-on practice in throwing, trimming, and glazing. By the end, you'll have crafted and finished your own pottery pieces, gaining a deeper appreciation for the craft.
